Curtis says of his Accuracy paintings:
"It was New Year’s 2015, and I made an Accuracy painting. The bullseye is the heart of the matter where happiness lies. Sometimes my aim took center, while others farther afield when contentment was out of reach. With each monthly self-analytical exercise, it became a map of my emotional state. The punctures reflect the wounds of intense joy and fleeting lightness as well as paralyzing fears and anxieties. I plan to make 180 accuracy paintings in total, and I will finish the series when I turn 50. It’s pathetic and cathartic."
