The Grim Wreather

Andy Alexander is an American artist who also goes by the project title, The Grim Wreather. Under this moniker, Andy creates wreath arrangements that function as seasonal sculptures. Pushing further the boundaries of what art should be and do, Andy also makes architecturally-inspired, psychedelic drawings and large-scale installations informed by science fiction. In his education at UCLA and ArtCenter College of Design, Andy studied with artists such as Paul McCarthy, Catherine Opie, and Mike Kelley.

Andy Alexander (b. 1974) has exhibited at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Los Angeles; Michel Rein, Paris; and Marvelli Gallery, New York. He currently teaches at ArtCenter College of Design. He has previously taught at Otis College of Art and Design.
