Tom of Finland
Tom of Finland, born Touko Laaksonen in Finland, is considered to be one of the most iconic artists of all time. Known primarily for what he referred to as his “dirty drawings,” Tom of Finland began contributing drawings to Bob Mizer’s “Physique Pictorial” in the 1950s and by the late 1970s, was exhibiting widely. With Durk Dehner, he started Tom of Finland Foundation in 1984 with the mission to safeguard and document Tom’s legacy and that of fellow artists.
